Tactical
The Flat Fee Portfolios Tactical Strategy is a rules-based buy-and-sell discipline that makes adjustments as market conditions change. It is based on the short-term and long-term moving averages of the underlying Exchange Trade Funds (ETFs) in the portfolio. When the markets begin to break down, Flat Fee Portfolios’ managers will take a defensive position and move a portion of the portfolio into a conservative fixed income sector. When the markets begin to recover, the manager will return to being fully invested to capture opportunities. The objective of these changes is to reduce the effect of long-term sustained declines on the portfolio.

The ETFs in the strategy represent five different asset classes which are tracked independently. This approach provides the flexibility to be bullish in one area such as emerging markets and bearish in another area such as Large Cap U.S. stocks.
